Corona Information Page and Response Plan
New Schedule for March 18 to March 31

Update March 27, 2020

Dear Family and Friends,

I wanted to update you on some things that affect our church the next several weeks.  At this time the following opportunities for interaction and study will remain the same:

  • Sunday Services – Facebook Live at 10:00 am
  • Women’s Bible Study – Facebook Live at 9:30 am (Monette Groff)
  • Wednesday Discipleship – Theology 101 – Facebook Live at 6:00 pm

There are some additional opportunities to connect to also.

  • Morning devotion – Monday through Friday – Facebook Live -7:00 am to 7:20 am. Encouragement, Scripture reading, prayer and a short thought for facing the coming day.  (Pastor Jim and/or special guest)
  • Thursday Bible Study – Philippians 1: 12-14 – Facebook Live – 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm (Michael Green)

As you know we are not meeting together physically.  We are adjusting to our circumstances in several ways.  One of the ways is providing two ways in which you can give your tithe or offering.

  1. Mail it in to:

                        Morristown Christian Fellowship

                        PO Box 187

                        Morristown, AZ 85342

  1. Sign up for online giving in two ways:
  • On our webpage is a link at the top, “Secure Giving.” Click on that and it will take you to Here you can sign up for electronic giving manually, giving when you can or automated.
  • On our Facebook page at In the bottom right corner of the top cover page click on “Sign Up” It will take you to the same link.  Here you can sign up for electronic giving.

Please note that will keep your financial information encrypted and stored by their banking partner to PCI DSS Level 1 compliant standards. PCI DSS Level 1 compliance is the highest possible rating one can get in the electronic payment processing industry. Your gift will be sent to the church bank account and you will immediately receive a receipt via email with all important information on that transaction needed for your records. There is a fee for each transaction and an option to pay that small percentage fee.

Finally, I want to say it has been a blessing to see how you have risen to the challenge of this isolation we have faced.  We know that church is not a building, but we also want to realize that being together physically is very important.  I have taken your face to face presence in my life for granted.  As I walked through the empty building yesterday, I miss the smiling faces and the heartwarming greetings.  I miss the hugs, the hellos, the Bible Studies and worship services that taught me much and give me perspective of God that I cannot have without each of you!  I miss walking in on the Lady’s Bible Study and seeing the love and care they have for one another.  I miss listening to Steve in the youth room as I prepare for my sermon, bring the Scriptures to life, never trying to cover up hard sayings but always helping us realize that God is so much greater than we. I miss seeing Carol darting around like a bee looking for one more way to serve the Lord.  I miss watching the intensity of Al’s demeanor as He reads God’s Word as though it is the last time, he will ever read that passage again.  I miss the Sunday morning prayer meetings, the stop by visits, the men’s breakfasts, I miss, I miss, I miss…. I could go on and on.  I am not the same person I was 4 weeks ago; you are not either.  I hope we will see the necessity of being together and never assuming we will always have it.  I can do without the comfy pews, the brewed coffee, the air condition in the summer, but I cannot do without you!

Please join us at 10:00 am on Sunday if you can on Facebook live.  It is easy to miss and just watch the recorded version later but there is something special about worshiping at the same time.  I love all of you and miss you more than you know.  We will be together soon!  One way or another!

Pastor Jim

 Update:  March 18, 2020

Hello Family,

It has been an evolving situation with the COVID-19 virus over this past week.  President Trump’s announcement yesterday changed things dramatically in regards to our response as a church to his recommendations. If you have not read the document released by the White House Administration, here is the link to read it  (  If you are having a difficult time understanding why these seemingly extreme measures are necessary here is a video to watch that does a good job of explaining the situation without outside commentary that clouds the issue (
After research, discussion and much prayer the Elder Team of MCF has decided to cancel all face to face meetings, bible studies, and worship services beginning Wednesday March 18th until  Tuesday March 31st. We will reevaluate what to do next on that date or before.  In the meantime we will meet online, through email lessons, and other avenues of growth and worship.  A comprehensive update will be sent out by tomorrow afternoon.  Please remember that the church is not a building we go to, it is an organism of believers who’s head is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I encourage you to pray for the teachers, elders, and pastor as they look for unique ways to teach, grow and encourage the body.  This is an opportunity of a lifetime for all of us.  It is something that our American Society has never really experienced, ever.  Let God’s Church Arise!

Let us love one another!

March 12th, 2020
Dear Morristown Christian Fellowship Family,

As you all know the Covid-19 virus (coronavirus) has disrupted our normal everyday lives recently.  Personal plans, gatherings and other events are being placed on hold or cancelled.  Today, President Trump issued a National Emergency.

As of the writing of this letter we will not be cancelling classes or worship service on Sunday, March 15th. This of course could change due to requests or requirements of our government entities. Currently, we are not under any State or Federal mandate that regulates our meeting together.  As information comes in, we will keep you updated via email, or Facebook page or our website (

While it is important that we do not succumb to the panic and hysteria that is occurring we want to be safe, rational, and wise when protecting the health of our families, church, and community.  As your pastor I am asking you respectfully to follow the guidelines below:

  1. If you have a fever, cough, or other flu or cold like symptoms please do not attempt to come to any of the services. (See CDC Guidelines attached)
  2. If you have the above symptoms please call me (480-205-3917) or Brother Steve Threewitt (623-693-1190) with what you are experiencing so we can pray for you.
  3. If you have a weakened immune system because of age, medical history, or another reason please read the CDC Guidelines below and be diligent in sanitary measures.
  4. As we meet together let us give each other elbow bumps, “air” high fives and other creative ways of greeting one another without exposing areas of the body that could later touch the head and face region.
  5. We will have an audio of Sunday’s service available on our website if you are unable to attend.

Even as followers of Christ there are an abundance of ways we can react to this situation.  We can drift into an attitude of anger, bitterness, and resentment toward those who may overreact, we can succumb to fear of the unknown and respond with panic or everything else in between.  The other reaction is to abide in the one who knows all things, controls all things, and has our best interest on His heart.  As a pastor friend said, “…check your heart. In what or in whom are you ultimately trusting? Is your fear of the coronavirus greater than your fear of God? Or is your trust in the sovereign God of the universe, the One who has already demonstrated His power over sin and death?”

I love you all so very much and will continue to pray for all of you regularly.  Pray for one another, let this be a time when God moves through out our families, our church, our community, our nation, and our world in a powerful way.  Do you see Him at work?  Look around you, abide in Him and join Him in His purpose and ways.

One last request my brothers and sisters. I want to encourage all the Morristown members and attendees to join with other churches across America in prayer this Sunday. We will take time in service specifically for this. There is a prayer guide attached.

Let Us Honor Him in All!

Pastor Jim
